If I were to ask any of you reading this what the best game design laptops are most of you would say somethig like Alienware or Asus. These are great gaming computers but lack the inovative design of other laptops that are used for graphic design. This will be a top 3 list basted on price, preformance, durability, and size.
#3 The Dell Inspiron 14Z
Although this laptop lacks the computing power of a high end laptop it is still able to do game design suprisingly well. It is 4.32 pounds with a 14 inch screen and upgradeable to a i7 processer and able to support nVida graphics cards suprisingly well. Also with a base price of just $599 usd what can go wrong.
#2 EUROCOM Panther 2.0
If it were not for the price of this product it would easly have taken the #1 spot. The panther 2.0 has a fully upgradeable platform, meaning that you can create a computer with the specs you need. As all game designers know the programs required for a proper game design laptop take up mych of the hard drive, which is not only annoying, but also slows down your computer to a almost snail like speed. Because of the EUROCOM created a laptop that has not one, not 2, but 4 harddrives. This creates a laptop with posable capacity of 4.0 terabites, which is unherd of. Its power supply is 300 watts, which makes it the only laptop with the ability to create games, while not needing to be plugged into for a good 3-4 hours. With all this the weight of the laptop with all the acceseries ( ac adapter and a small 256 solid state external harddrive) comes out to a suprising low 10.6 pounds. As I stated at the beginning however with a base price of $2800 it is not the first on my list.
#1 Lenevo Think Pad W Series
This product is bar none for design. Coming standerd with a i7 processer with 6 cores 8 gigs of ddr3 and a nVida with 2 gigs of ddr3 and a retal price of just $1100 nuff said. If you are doing graphic design for collage, or a job this is the laptop for you. Most preformance for the money and highly portable with a weight of just over 8 pounds. Just get it.
